Susanna Reid was astounded to learn that Richard Madeley, 67, remembers the very first Doctor Who.
William Hartnell played the first Time Lord in 1963, with David Tennant and Jodie Whittaker following in his footsteps.
Doctor Who has a new Doctor, with Ncuti Gatwa from Sex Education taking on the legendary position.
Before Catherine Tate’s debut on Good Morning Britain on Tuesday, Richard remembers viewing the first Doctor Who as a youngster – but Susanna, 52, couldn’t believe it.
He began: âItâs 13 years since her last visit to the Tardis, Cathernie Tate is coming back and reuniting with David Tennant to celebrate the showâs, do you believe it, 60th anniversary.
âI remember the first one, weâll be chatting to her later.â
A stunned Susanna replied: âNo, Richard no! You canât!â
âI was seven years old, I remember it,â he insisted.
Susanna quipped: âYou must be sleeping in a tardis then!â
âIt was sensational, when Doctor Who hit the screens for the first time, it blew us all away,â Richard recalled.
He added: âIt was all black and white.â
This comes after Susanna and Richard celebrated Dr. Hilary Jones’ special milestone birthday on the broadcast.
Dr. Hilary has been counselling viewers for decades – he’s been on TV for almost thirty years – but few knew his age until it was revealed on his birthday.
Dr. Hilary, a well-known GP, turned 70 yesterday, which surprised many people, including his colleagues.
âNever I donât believe it, no,â declared Richard, while a stunned Susanna joked: âI want what heâs having!â
The modest TV medic quipped in response: âMake-up is brilliant these days, isnât it? Hides all the wrinkles and everything.â
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV1.
