According to rumours, Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield are leaving This Morning.
The revelations follow speculations of a ‘dwindling relationship’ between the two, who had been close and worked together for decades.
A source initially revealed: ‘To those around them on set, it has become clear recently that Holly and Phil are not as close as they once were.’
‘Professionally you would have no idea there was anything going on because on camera they are acting exactly the same.’
They went on to say to The Sun, ‘But behind the scenes, their romance has cooled.’
Phillip issued a statement last week in response, saying that they were still closest friends.
However, Holly was reportedly taken aback by his remarks, with later reports claiming she pondered leaving the show to avoid the heated scenario.
Despite the many headlines, Phillip, 61, and Holly, 42, returned to the show on Monday to present a united face amid accusations that they were ‘barely communicating’ behind the scenes.
According to MailOnline, the daily team will spend some time apart and will stand down from presenting responsibilities on the ITV show in just over a week’s time.
Despite the fact that their break coincides with half-term, which Metro.co.uk believes is when the duo are normally off-screen.
The fresh allegations come as viewership for This Morning have plunged.
In the midst of all the speculations of a feud, it has been reported that the popular show has been losing thousands of viewers, with Monday’s edition plummeting by 20% to 724,000 viewers compared to the same day last week.
According to the MailOnline, while Tuesday’s episode picked up an average of 663,000, Wednesday’s installment dropped by more than 100,000 from 647,000 to 551,000 compared to last week.
