The winner of Love Island Millie Court said that frequent fan attention contributed to her breakup with Liam Reardon.
The former pair went through a roller coaster journey on Season 7 of the famous dating programme before winning the series outright. Things moved rapidly between them as they bought a home together before announcing their split in July of this year.
Millie, 26, said in her recent YouTube video about their break-up that she is dating someone new, but she isn’t ready to give any specifics about the mysterious man.
‘I am going to confirm that I am dating someone. But I’m not ready to tell you guys yet,’ she said.
‘And I love you guys and I love your support but it’s early doors and you all experienced a whole, full blown meeting someone and a relationship on TV.’
She added: ‘I struggled with that a lot because it just wasn’t nice. I don’t really want people to be involved in my personal relationship. It ruined things. It was a big part why my last relationship ended.
‘It’s been a while since then and this next chapter I’m going to be keeping it a secret for a little bit, just to see how it goes.’
Mille’s statement came only days after it was revealed that she and Liam, 23, had spent Easter weekend together.
In photos acquired by the Daily Mail, the couple was seen picking up a pizza from Dominos in Windermere.
‘Millie and Liam have begun communicating again, but it’s early days for them,’ a source told the newspaper.
‘They weren’t expecting to get back together after their breakup was so painful for them both, but months have passed, and they still couldn’t stop thinking about each other.’
They added that they were planning to ‘take things slowly’ in order to ‘rebuild their relationship’.
Love Island is available to stream on ITVX.
