Former Neighbours star Madeleine West posted a photo from her hospital bed while receiving an IV drip.
The 42-year-old Australian actress who portrayed Dione ‘Dee’ Bliss and Andrea Somers on the popular soap opera revealed to her followers that she had been straining her body to the limit and was now taking a break to heal.
She wrote, “There is no reward for keeping every promise if the cost is dishonouring your health.”‘There’s no prize for honouring every commitment if the price is dishonoring your health,’ she penned.
‘I’m smiling but I’m not gonna sugarcoat the fact I’ve just had a massive wake up call. I know I’m not alone in being guilty of taking my health for granted.
‘I hear a lot of hype in my industry about being a YES MAN. Well right now I’m practicing being a NO WOMAN. Frankly, I’d rather be smelling the roses than attending fashion festivals.’
This follows the recent courageous disclosure of childhood sexual assault.
She has not yet disclosed any information about the attacks or identified the accused perpetrator.
She said: ‘This monster ruined my life. I’ve come out the other side, yes a survivor but happy to own the title of victim.
‘Justice can be achieved. It was never, and never will be, your fault, you are not to blame.’
Madeleine continued to News Corp: ‘I’m now seeking justice. Anyone out there who is posting, watching or hurting a child, your time is up. The wheel is turning.’
This comes as the celebrity begins her podcast Predatory alongside former detective Gary Jubelin in an effort to shed light on the issue.
The eight-part series, in which they will meet with child sex crime investigators, advocates for a nationwide public child sex register and other revisions to legislation regarding victim compensation.

She also stated that some individuals “consistently turn the other cheek” and that it might be “very difficult” for them to comprehend that the abusers are “near to their inner circle.”
