Naga Munchetty, the BBC Breakfast anchor, sprung into action when she observed her co-star Charlie Stayt making a mistake.
Charlie, 60, had to subtly tell the presenter, who was recently pictured puffing a cigarette unaware she was outside a no-smoking area, that he was still on-air.
Naga, 48, was discussing support for families with challenged children with attorney Victoria Butler-Cole, who joined via video conference from Devon.
However, as they returned to the BBC studio in the middle of the debate, Charlie was spotted engaged in the day’s newspaper, catching up on the headlines.
Naga offered Charlie a small shove after seeing his focus was elsewhere, which he didn’t immediately notice.
Fortunately, Naga is an expert at averting gaffes, having recently rescued a BBC Breakfast piece from a gatecrasher.
Hannah Miller, a travelling reporter, was at Download Festival last Friday to discuss stories from the UK music festival.
However, while she walked around the tent, a festival-goer appeared and made an improper remark regarding drugs.
‘I adore my prescription speed supplied by the NHS,’ the reveller yelled into the camera.
While a slightly nervous Hannah apologised to the audience, Naga pulled the section short to avoid any additional inappropriate comments.
Naga, on the other hand, isn’t immune to the chuckles, having failed to keep a straight face last year when a baby kept farting during a heartbreaking cancer narrative.
The former Strictly Come Dancing star has also recently spoken up about her adenomyosis diagnosis, which causes her discomfort that “takes her breath away.”
The NHS describes adenomyosis as ‘a condition where the endometrium (lining of the womb) is found deep in the myometrium (muscle of the uterus)’.
Heavy, painful, or irregular periods, as well as pre-menstrual pelvic pain and feelings of heaviness/discomfort in the pelvis, are the most prevalent symptoms.
Naga was commended for being open about her illness, with one Twitter user writing, ‘Naga is a role model to countless, her voice is heard, well done Naga.’
BBC Breakfasts airs weekdays on BBC One from 6am.
