Shirley Ballas has denied reports that she and her fiancé had broken up.
The Strictly Come Dancing head judge, 62, declared in June that she no longer intended to marry boyfriend Danny Taylor, 50.
The couple first met while working on a pantomime performance of Jack and the Beanstalk in 2019.
Shirley, on the other hand, stated two months ago that she does not want to go down the aisle again and has ‘changed her mind’ about their marriage.
However, the former professional dancer, who joined the BBC dancing series in 2017, has now refuted allegations that they’ve now split up, insisting they were ‘excellent friends’.
‘Danny, we’re still together after four and a half years, she said.
‘That’s miraculous.
‘He has a very busy schedule and I have a very busy schedule,’ she added when speaking to The Mirror.
‘He’s in the north and I’m in the south, but somehow we do try to make it work, so that’s good.’
Shirley went on to heap praise on her partner.
‘What I like most about Danny is he has a heart of gold, and he puts up with my lifestyle. I am like the Tasmanian devil and I’m all over the place.’
Shirley claimed she just changed her mind when she announced she wasn’t planning on getting married again earlier this year.
‘I just feel that at this particular point in my life, my mother and I have got this great relationship and we want to do some travelling and there are different things we want to do,’ she said.
Shirley married former ballroom dancer Sammy Stopford from 1980 to 1984 before marrying dancer Corky Ballas in 1985.
They had a son, Mark Ballas, but divorced in 2007 after 22 years of marriage.
Shirley has been raising money for mental health organisation CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) ahead of the return of the next season of Strictly Come Dancing.
Shirley joined up for three challenges in commemoration of her late brother David, who committed suicide in 2003, in order to raise money and prevent additional lives from being lost to suicide.
She has already undertaken a zipline and wing walk this week, and she was scheduled to jump on Saturday.
Shirley told Metro.co.uk about the challenge that she wanted to push herself fully out of her comfort zone.
‘I thought I needed to go big and do something people would think I’d never do,’ she explained.
While Audrey said that her mother wasn’t delighted with the bold activities, she believed her late brother would have approved.
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC later this year.
