Strictly Come Dancing stars Fleur East and Molly Rainford were getting some much-needed R&R in Barbados over the Christmas period.
The duo reached the final of the juggernaut BBC series, competing against former Blue Peter presenter Helen Skelton and wildlife camera operator Hamza Yassin for the Glitterball trophy.
After performing three dances for judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Shirley Ballas, Hamza, 32, and his partner Jowita Przystal were crowned 2022 champions.
Just a couple of weeks after the contest ended, Fleur, 35, and Molly, 22, jetted out to the Caribbean island to make the most of the tropical island’s breathtaking offerings.
Both the X Factor star and Molly shared pictures of the pair of them wearing bikinis on a pristine beach and a behind-the-scene snap of them cuddling up on Strictly on their Instagrams on Friday.
Fleur and the CBBC actor captioned the post: ‘From the ballroom to the beach’, while the single also shared a Story of them strolling along the coastline.
In the short clip, the beaming duo can’t get over their luck that they are vaycaying in Barbados, with Molly joking: ‘Fancy seeing you there.’
‘What are the chances,’ Fleur, sporting shades responds, while Molly says: ‘Last time I saw you we were in the ballroom.’
‘Now we’re on the beach,’ a chuffed Fleur continues, spanning the camera over to white sand. ‘We made it.’
Chuckling Fleur says: ‘We’ve come a long way Molly. We’ve come a long way.
In the final, DJ Fleur relieved widespread praise from the judges for all of her performances, with two perfect scores for her samba to Hot Hot Hot by Arrow, the judges’ pick, and her couple’s choice to Destiny’s Child megamix.
Craig said: ‘I’m furious actually because I couldn’t find anything wrong with it,’ while Motsi added: ‘Here is your queen, come and fetch her.’
Meanwhile, Molly was seen as one of the most improved by the judges for her quickstep to Love On Top by Beyonce as her judges’ pick, rumba to All The Man That I Need by Whitney Houston as her favourite and show dance to a mix of Kiss and 1999 – both by Prince.
When she danced to Houston, Motsi said: [That] was class… and I know one day we will be looking [at you in the future] and we will be like “we know that girl, she started on Strictly, look at the superstar.” It’s coming for you, don’t wait.’
Strictly is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
