Katie Price has called out a documentary on Channel 5 about her life, titled Shameless: The Rise & Fall of Katie Price, stressing that she had ‘nothing to do with it’.
The film, which was shown on the channel last night, features archival footage and interviews with individuals including journalists and people claiming to be friends of the model.
However, in a video posted on her Instagram Story, the 44-year-old refuted that any of the interviewees in the programme are friends of hers nor do they know ‘anything’ about her, while also emphasising that she’s ‘in a good place’.
‘A lot of us go up and then we go down. I’m on my way up, I’m not falling at all. I’m in a good place,’ she said in the clip, which she filmed while sitting beside her 20-year-old son Harvey.
When she asked Harvey to share a message to everyone being ‘horrible’ to her, he appeared to say: ‘Stop being a c**t.’
Katie also wrote text over her video, where she said: ‘The funny thing is I’m happier than ever, my kids are happy and I have great friends and family around me.
‘This is a reminder to be kind. I think the media forget I have created an amazing life for my family from the age of 17 which I bet many others haven’t had.
‘I have travelled the world, worked hard and just because I am in the public eye I am used to make tv like this which I am nothing to do with [sic].’
The TV personality highlighted the importance of therapy, saying that in her view, ‘therapy is the best thing I can recommend to anyone who is struggling’.
‘I admit I have had my ups and downs, relationship problems etc but i am still here, strong and ready for 2023.’
The reality star posted a defiant picture of herself giving a peace sign to the camera, before revealing on her Instagram Story that she was tuning in to watch the documentary, as seh wrote: ‘All I can do is thank my loyal fans.’
‘So funny watching my whole life on tv,’ she added, before also speaking out against Carrie Grant’s remarks on the programme over her singing.
‘[I] will continue recording and releasing songs,’ she pledged, alongside a cry-laughing and an angel emoji.
Last year, a Channel 5 documentary about Charlotte Crosby’s plastic surgery received more than 7,000 complaints.
The Geordie Shore star branded the programme ‘immoral’, stating following its release: ‘In 2021 a main UK channel & production company believed it would be a good use of airtime to dissect my physical appearance.’
The broadcaster consequently removed the film from its streaming service and issued an apology, which read: ‘Channel 5 and the programme’s producers, Crackit Productions, take duty of care very seriously.
‘While we acknowledge that the programme was Ofcom compliant, we have taken on board Charlotte’s feedback and removed the episode from our streaming platform My5. We apologise for any upset caused.’
