Matt Hancock did a shirtless dance beside a swimming pool while shooting Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, and the This Morning panel aren’t happy about it.
Gareth Gates, Michelle Heaton, and Hancock did a performance to Lizzo’s 2 Be Loved in Vietnam, according to a video provided by Montana Brown on Instagram.
All four are in rhythm as they toss their arms in the air, with Hancock, 44, once again demonstrating his somewhat erratic dancing abilities after previously perplexing fans with a recent Barbie lip-sync.
The brief footage aired on This Morning during a typical part in which they analyse the news.
Vanessa Feltz and Matthew Wright joined Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary on the show, and they weren’t afraid to voice their concerns.
Dermot, 50, laughed as he presented the tape, and Alison, 48, added, ‘Already it’s getting a lot of blowback.’
‘Understandably isn’t it?,’ responded Matthew, 58.
Alison interjected: ‘Why? He’s just having a bit of fun.’
Matthew then explained why some people could find it insulting.
‘This was filmed just after he left government, before I’m a Celebrity… [Matt appeared on the 2022 series in November].
‘At this point, he’d just been kicked out of government for having an affair during covid restrictions when I couldn’t bury my friend who died of covid.’
‘That puts it into perspective,’ Alison responded.
Matthew continued: ‘The only people I loathe and despise more than the despicable Matt Hancock are the TV bosses that think that people want to see him on TV. I don’t. I hate the idea that he’s getting rich or richer doing nonsense like that.’
Vanessa, 61, was in agreement with Matthew and added: ‘They say dance like no one’s watching, and maybe he should take that literally – dance and make sure nobody is watching.
‘If you dance and someone is watching and filming, and they’re going to put you on social media then people are going to judge you.
‘Of all the people I feel a great deal of compassion for, and a great deal of empathy for, he’s not necessarily top of my list quite frankly,’ she concluded.
Hancock reportedly earned £45,000 for his appearance on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, for which he spent 80 hours shooting.
He spent the first week of October filming, only weeks before leaving for I’m A Celebrity in Australia.
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1. Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins returns on Tuesday, September 26 at 9.30pm on Channel 4.
