Love Island star Paige Thorne has replied to accusations that current bombshell Scott van der Sluis is her ex-fiancé.
Shortly after it was revealed that the 22-year-old had resigned his work as a custodian for Shelbourne Football Club in order to find love on the ITV dating show, rumours suggested that Paige, 24, and Scott were engaged before calling it quits.
During her season eight appearance, paramedic Paige previously said that she joined the dating programme after her fiancé deserted her, leading viewers to believe Scott was the mysterious man.
Paige, on the other hand, recently addressed the allegations in an Instagram Q&A.
A follower asked: ‘Have you heard the rumour that Scott of Love Island is your ex-fiance. Is it true?’
Alongside a selfie of the pair, Paige replied: ‘False news! Absolutely touring for him though.
‘Met him around 3 years ago through a friend whilst he was living in Swansea x’
Paige was a fan favourite on Love Island after breaking up with rugby player Jacques O’Neill and then reuniting with returning bombshell Adam Collard.
She ended her relationship with Adam, however, mere months after leaving the villa, after photos of the personal trainer partying with other females were revealed.
Paige returned to her profession as a paramedic on the frontlines of the NHS after leaving Love Island.
Claiming she didn’t want to ‘bash him,’ the brunette beauty stated the celebrity had a terrible time dealing with things when word of their breakup broke.
‘Obviously, everyone was aware of all the videos and pictures coming out of him and his arms around other girls in nightclubs and whatever on his PAs,’ she said.
Paige then said she was willing to ‘put them behind [her] and move on’ but further footage landing in her DMs was too much for the paramedic to overlook.
‘I was getting sent more videos of him on nights out that didn’t go viral and that were just really shady and I wasn’t comfortable in it,’ she explained.
‘I want to be 100% certain my guy is only about me and isn’t accessible to anybody else,’ said the fourth-place winner.
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
