In its new series, Secret Invasion, the Marvel Cinematic Universe returns to the shadows in a world fueled by secrets and espionage.
The drama, which stars Samuel L Jackson, Olivia Colman, Emilia Clarke, Ben Mendelsohn, and Kingsley Ben-Adir, imagines a time when an extraterrestrial species called Skrulls have invaded the Earth’s population and has already received widespread acclaim.
The hitch is that Skrulls can shapeshift and take on the look of anyone, thus any human may be one of them.
While some Skrulls support Nick Fury (Samuel) and his human allies, others hold more radical beliefs and are upset that the former Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. has failed to fulfil his pledge to locate them their own planet to call home.

What time does Secret Invasion come out?
Typically when TV shows are released on Disney Plus, ranging from action-packed stories from Marvel to Star Wars, they tend to come out at the same time.
As a result, the first episode of Secret Invasion is slated to air on Wednesday, June 21 at 8 a.m. BST in the United Kingdom.
It will be available on the Disney Plus streaming platform in the United States at midnight PT (Pacific Time) and 3am ET (Eastern Time).
So, if you won’t be able to watch first thing in the morning, avoid social media, lest you unintentionally come across critical spoilers!
The following Secret Invasion episodes will be released every Wednesday at 8 a.m. BST.
How many episodes are there?
Secret Invasion has been labelled as a “mini series,” meaning it does not have as many episodes as other seasons of TV shows.
The show will consist of six episodes, which will run weekly from Wednesday, June 21 until Wednesday, July 26.
Ali Selim, whose previous work includes Sweet Land, The Looming Tower, and the short Emperor of the Air, is directing all six episodes.
Kyle Bradstreet, the show’s creator, was the show’s lead writer behind the scenes, having previously worked on projects such as Borgia and Mr Robot.
Secret Invasion is the sequel to Captain Marvel, which introduced the Skrulls to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2019.
The picture, which starred Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, was set in the 1990s and featured the hero at the focus of the plot facing the Skrulls as her adversaries.
However, it was subsequently revealed that the Skrulls were the ones being persecuted and forced to escape as refugees by the Kree, a warrior species of humanoids who had taken Carol in as their own.
Secret Invasion premieres on Wednesday June 21 on Disney Plus, with new episodes released on Wednesdays.
