Lorraine Kelly has expressed gratitude to fans for their support during an interview with Paris Hilton in which the actress ‘wasn’t very candid.’
The 42-year-old heiress and new mother is in the UK on a press tour in support of her new memoir, Paris: The Memoir.
Paris’ enthusiasm and joy about the spotlight may have worn off after appearing on everything from This Morning to BBC’s Women’s Hour – and showing up at the picket line supporting striking journalists.
The Stars Are Blind singer appeared on ITV’s Lorraine on Tuesday morning, when the host appeared to have difficulty engaging the reality star in conversation.
Lorraine, her typical upbeat and enthusiastic self, inquired about everything from her ADHD diagnosis to her tough time at a’strict’ boarding school, to becoming a mother and the horrifying impact her sex tape being leaked without her consent had on her and her family.
Paris, who had most certainly discussed each of these themes dozens of times in the previous days alone, normally provided polite but brief responses to each one, leaving Lorraine to try to hype up her guest for the next question, usually to the same reply.
Some social media users grumbled that Lorraine was talking too much, while others commended her for making the most of the conversation, with Lorraine now praising one fan in particular for her good remarks.
A fan remarked to Lorraine on Twitter, ‘you did really well on the Pariss interview, she was not very forthcoming!’ to which Lorraine replied: ‘Cheers!’
Several admirers had noted that Paris had not said much during the ‘unusual’ interview, with one adding that she was ‘hardly saying anything.’
Another wrote: ‘Such a strange interview with Paris Hilton – Paris hardly said a word?’
‘Paris didn’t have much to say did she,’ another wrote alongside a laughing emoji.
One viewer asked if Lorraine was ‘going to let Paris speak,’ to which other fans defended the host, one saying ‘she’s a tough one, so frozen,’ and another saying she ‘had nothing to say.’
Nonetheless, Lorraine was treated to a great all-rounder talk with Jurassic Park star Sam Neill, who discussed everything from his failed audition for James Bond to his belief that more women should rule nations and that Russia would not have invaded Ukraine if that were the case.
Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV
