Love Island pair Casey O’Gorman and Rosie Seabrook have broken up just two weeks after leaving the resort.
The two were sent home after narrowly losing out on a spot in the finale, causing several of the other participants to cry.
After the bombshell, their brief romance produced a lot of turmoil. Rosie, 24, opted to marry Casey, 26, leaving his previous partner Claudia Fogarty, 28, plainly upset.
Casey had claimed he couldn’t wait to present his new passion to his friends and family a week ago, but they’ve now chosen to be friends.
Casey was asked how things were doing with Rosie at an Instagram Q&A when he invited followers to ask him anything.
His response, though, was quite unexpected.
‘Rosie and I have spoken…she’s a great girl. Life outside the villa is just very different and we will remain friends moving forward,’ he wrote.
But, Rosie has yet to comment on the divorce.
They are the first Love Island couple to split up after leaving the villa this season.
Yet, prior to this disclosure, reports said that Casey boasted about being single at a previous function.
‘Casey said he was not officially in a couple with Rosie and that he was single,’ a source told The Sun.
‘It was clear he was ready to go out on the pull and enjoy the attention that comes after being on a show like Love Island.
‘There doesn’t appear to be a deep connection between Casey and Rosie and although they were a couple when they were in the villa – being on the outside has made them realise they’re not right for each other.’
Casey stated last week that he was spending time apart from Rosie when they returned to the UK from South Africa.
On another Instagram Q&A, he stated that, while they travelled back together, they were ‘spending time with relatives at the moment’.
Following his departure from the programme, Casey uploaded a selfie with friend Tom Clare, 23, rather than Rosie, and omitted to mention her while reminiscing on his experience on the show.
‘What an experience! Thanks to everyone for the support. Had the best time of my life in there! Now straight back to doing what I do best, playing the trumpet,’ he wrote on Instagram.
Love Island is streaming on ITVX.
