Josie Gibson still gets ‘nervous as hell’ while presenting This Morning, but credits her co-stars Holly Willoughby and Alison Hammond for helping her get through it.
The Big Brother star, 37, has fronted various segments on the entertainment and lifestyle programme throughout the years, and due to immense popularity, Josie has recently started hosting the main show alongside Phillip Schofield.
While she made it look effortless, the presenter revealed the transition left her feeling like an ‘imposter.’
‘I still get as nervous as hell,’ Josie told OK! Magazine.
‘I just tell myself, “you’ve got this, Josie, you’ve got this.” Because sometimes, you can feel like a bit of an impostor.
‘Then I remember, we’re all just a big family trying to make a little bit of TV and light up someone’s day.’
In celebration of International Women’s Day, the TV personality hailed Alison and Holly as two of the most ‘inspirational’ people in her life.
Speaking about Alison’s impact on her career, she told the publication: ‘Whenever I’d get nervous before a job, she’d tell me to calm down and say that if I’m having a good time, they’re having a good time.’
‘Oh my God, Holly Willoughby. I’m not joking, she is so smooth,’ she added.
After finding fame by winning Big Brother in 2010, the final series on Channel 4, Josie struggled to find regular TV work until This Morning and applied for a job ay supermarket chain Lidl.
She joined the This Morning family in 2019 to front the short competition VTs, and she regularly had viewers in stitches with her antics before she replaced Holly last minute when the presenter fell ill with a stomach bug.
After impressing viewers with her ‘relatable’ she’s finally become a regular main presenter, and rightly so.
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV and ITV Hub.
