Love Is Blind season two may be over but it looks like the drama from that reunion is still kicking off.
After the episode was released on Netflix last week, Abhishek ‘Shake’ Chatterjee has taken aim at co-host Nick Lachey for not being ‘impartial’ with his comments.
In a now-deleted Instagram rant, the 33-year-old also branded the presenter a ’t**t’, and called his co-stars ‘puppets’.
‘Reunion summed up in a photo. You put a doctor on the show… of course you were going to see some critical thinking,’ he penned alongside a picture of himself in the episode.
‘Speaking of which, @nicklachey you’re a massive t**t for your comment dragging vets. You do realize that becoming a veterinarian [is] considerably more difficult than becoming a human doc right?
‘Also consider learning how to be an impartial host before the season 3 reunion airs.
‘Sorry I didn’t play along with your narrative like the rest of these puppets. Say hi to @vanessalachey for me.’
Taking to his Instagram story, the vet later revealed that the post in question had been ‘taken down’, claiming that he had been censored.
Throughout the dating show, Shake made several comments about his fiancée Deepti Vempati behind her back, and told his co-stars that he wasn’t physically attracted to her.
He also made remarks about body image during the initial pod dates – with his castmates unimpressed by his behavior.
In the reunion, he was questioned about this, with Nick asking what he was missing in the conventional dating world that he thought he could find on Love Is Blind.
‘I want the emotional connection, everything that we know the show is supposed to do,’ he replied. ‘But there’s also certain criteria there that goes beyond the emotional connection.
‘Love is not purely blind to me.’
It was at this point that Vanessa Lachey, who co-hosts the program with her husband, suggested that he was ‘on the wrong dating how’.
‘But I wanted to be partially blind. I wanted to be [on] Love Is Blurry,’ Shake continued.
‘I’m doubling down on the beginning. We all have our physical preferences. Every woman in here is beautiful. I think you’re all beautiful. I’m not attracted to all of you.
‘Unfortunately, the only one I’m attracted to is Vanessa [Lachey] – and I wish I wasn’t!
‘The point is, it’s not a choice. You don’t choose. It’s nature, baby. We’re animals.’
Nick had a mic drop moment when he hit back: ‘No, you treat animals. We’re human beings. There’s a big difference.’
Love Is Blind is available to stream on Netflix now.
