Warning: spoilers ahead for The Mandalorian.
Ahmed well, well known for his role as Jar Jar Binks in the prequel films, has spoken out following his surprising cameo in The Mandalorian.
Grogu had a flashback about being rescued from the Jedi Temple on Coruscant during the fatal Order 66, when all Jedi were labelled traitors and hunted down, in season 3 episode 4 of the Disney Plus programme.
Kelleran Beq, portrayed by Ahmed, was a double lightsaber-wielding Jedi Master who was very helpful in Baby Yoda’s escape.
The Jedi were originally presented in the 2020 web-based children’s game programme Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge.
Fans have been clamouring to applaud Ahmed on his amazing comeback to the series, especially after Jar Jar Binks was chastised for his strange mannerisms in the films throughout the years.
In an Instagram post, the 49-year-old acknowledged the particular position he played in Grogu’s journey, as well as the outpouring of affection he’s gotten from the fanbase.
‘Gratitude! Good to be back. There is so much to say and share. It’s going to take a couple of days. But, for now, I’ll just say thank you to all that have held me up and made me better,’ he wrote in his caption, before adding a series of hashtags including ‘#stayready’.
Several people celebrated Kelleran’s debut in The Mandalorian in the comments, with Scrubs actor Donald Faison writing: ‘Dude I woke my family up I was cheering so loud!!!!’
Digital creator Eli Hyder added: ‘I saw you this morning and melted. Thank you for coming back in the COOLEST WAY ever man, you deserve nothing less dude!!’
Someone else wrote: ‘I know this will be lost in the comments but I am so glad that in recent years and especially now, you’re getting the recognition you rightfully deserve.
‘As a kid of the prequel era, you were a part of my childhood so I’m beyond joyed you’ve been able to make such a spectacular return to the galaxy!’
Ahmed’s Instagram picture included a selfie he snapped in the gym while wearing a weight-lifting belt, wrist straps, and a cap with the tagline “Episode I.”
In addition to portraying Jar Jar Binks, he appears as a character named Achk Med-Beq in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, who was probably related to Kelleran.
The Mandalorian is available to watch on Disney Plus, with new episodes released on Wednesdays.
