Denise Welch called out Dr Hilary Jones online after he said it was ‘unethical’ for an unvaccinated doctor to refuse the Covid jab while working with vulnerable patients.

The 63-year-old presenter responded to the remarks the general practitioner, 68, made on Wednesday’s edition of Good Morning Britain, where he said someone who is unvaccinated carries the virus in their bodies for longer.

The writer also warned that doctors have an ‘ethical duty’ to protect their patients.

The TV personality took to Twitter and claimed there was a lot of ‘fearmongering’ and said Dr Hilary should be more ‘aware’ of people’s mental wellbeing.

She wrote: ‘Also important that people responsible for nearly 2 yrs of fearmongering should be more aware of the impact on mental health. (sic)

‘Some people will never recover from the ridiculous lives they have been leading.’

Viewers took to Twitter after the episode aired to share their opinions, with one accusing him of spreading ‘misinformation.’

One user wrote: ‘I caught covid, very little symptoms didn’t pass it on to my husband who is vulnerable my kids or work colleagues and I’m not vaccinated.’

This isn’t the first time Dr Hilary’s comments on the Covid vaccine have sparked outrage. In December 2021, he strongly encouraged unvaccinated people to get jabbed as he claimed 90% of people currently in hospital have yet to have their vaccine.
