According to reports, Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch charges famous visitors £75 to rent their own personal dressing area while filming the show.
The live TV programme, hosted by Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer, has welcomed a slew of renowned faces over the course of its 11-year run, most recently Reece Shearsmith, Dani Dyer, Ellie Goulding, and members of Busted.
According to reports, individuals asked to appear are informed they may rest in a ‘community green room’ before filming begins.
However, if celebs wish to use a ‘separate changing room,’ they would allegedly have to pay a’small charge’ of £75.
According to The Sun, bookers issued an email to celebrity agencies stating that ‘change rooms are available in the hair and make-up area, if necessary’.
A source told the publication: ‘Celebrities have been really taken aback by the move, it’s totally unheard of in the industry.
‘They don’t charge a fee to appear, so why should they stump up cash to get changed in private?’
They alleged that female stars ‘are particularly furious’ about the decision, ‘as they usually have to get changed and expect a private dressing room to be laid on’.
‘It’s a cheeky move and presumably part of some cost-cutting exercise,’ they added.
Last year, TV star Emily Atack had a memorable moment on Sunday Brunch when she made a pass on a member of the crew by asking for his phone number.
When chef Simon tried to get a food processor to function correctly, a crew member named Ben jumped into action, with Tim also attempting to assist him.
After Ben stepped in, Emily didn’t hold back as she shouted: ‘Can I have your phone number?’
Meanwhile, Blur bassist Alex James sustained a nasty accident on the show, ripping a ‘huge piece’ off his finger while frying some fritters.
Several people who were watching the live show wrote that the artist should have been taken off the air so that his injuries could be treated, while others applauded him for remaining cool in the midst of the pandemonium.
Sunday Brunch next airs on Sunday at 9.30am on Channel 4.
