When Carol Vorderman learned that Towie Pete Wick wanted to be one of her “special friends,” she was astounded.
The Countdown whizz, 62, has urged other women to approach relationships differently and has revealed that she is seeing five different guys.
She also disclosed that one of her “special friends” is an astronaut who communicates with her from space while she has been seeing another for more than ten years.
Another man, Pete, 35, who previously stated on a podcast that he would want to be included in Carol’s love life, is also quite eager to do so.
Presenter Holly Jay-Smith questioned the media personality about the reality TV star’s offer after she had appeared on Friday’s This Morning.
In a video posted on Instagram, Holly told the host that Pete “wants to be one of your men,” causing a bewildered-looking Carol to slump to the floor.
Carol gave a nod of assent and then burst into laughing, asking Holly to show her a picture of the reality TV star.
Is that now official, Carol said in jest?

Before Carol said: ‘One of my special friends? That’s hilarious!’.
When Michelle Visage questioned Carol about her romantic situation on Rule Breakers, Carol responded, “I’m having the best time.”
‘I’ve spoken about this once. I have a system which I’ve had for 10 years. They’re called ‘special friends’.
‘I spoke a couple of months ago about having “special friends” and it was like, again, the world had fallen in for some people but actually what I found was there was an awful lot of women who said “I’d never thought about it like this”’.
She went on to elaborate on each man’s relationship in detail: You know everyone is single, one is 11 years old, one is 7 years old. It’s a joyful location. I should clarify that I don’t enjoy one-night stands.
‘The language around a woman of my generation is that if you had more than one partner when you got married you were this you were that.
‘Everything was derogatory about a woman, that was the environment I was growing up in. It was like ‘she’s desperate’, everything was judgmental.’
The TV personality wed Royal Navy lieutenant Christopher Mather at the age of 24 in 1985, but their union lasted only a year before they divorced.
Carol remarried in 1990 at the age of 30, this time to management consultant Patrick King.
Throughout their marriage, which lasted until 2000, the couple welcomed two children.
