Tom Holland has spoken out about his future as Spider-Man with the announcement of the fourth superhero film.
Following in the footsteps of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, the 27-year-old made his Spidey debut in 2016.
Following the enormous success of his third stand-alone film, No Way Home, in 2021, fans were overjoyed to find that another installment is on the way.
During the launch of his current movie, the Crowded Room, the actor revealed if he will be donning the outfit again in the future.
‘I think as long as we can do justice to Peter Parker,’ he told Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet.
‘As long as we can keep elevating and making the films better and making them mean more, then I’ll be there.
‘I’d be stupid to say that I wouldn’t be the luckiest kid alive if I got to do it again, there’s stuff going on, but we’ll have to just wait and see what happens.’
Kevin Feige revealed earlier this year that Spider-Man 4 will hit theatres shortly, following No Way Home’s box office success of $1.9 billion.
However, we may have to wait a little longer for the sequel because it is now on hold in support of the ongoing Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike.
Sony Pictures producer Amy Pascal told Variety: ‘Are we going to make another movie? Of course, we are.
‘We’re in the process, but [with] the writers’ strike, nobody is working during the strike.
‘We’re all being supporters and whenever they get themselves together, we’ll get started.’
Thankfully, there is a lot to keep us occupied until then, as animated sequel Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is landing in cinemas today and it’s definitely well worth the watch.
