Spaghetti vods have just become a whole lot simpler.
Is it really a bad idea to pour vodka into a sauce instead of a shot glass? It no longer has to since Heinz has done the hard work and developed the completed product.
In collaboration with Absolut Vodka, the culinary and drink pair created a sauce ideal for tossing into pasta for TikTok’s iconic penne alla vodka dish.
The hot sauce, inspired by social media recipes that went popular during the lockdown, will be sold in Waitrose from April 12.
However, the Heinz x Absolut Tomato Vodka Spaghetti Sauce jars are only available for a short time, so you’ll have to act quickly if you want one.
And don’t worry, you’re not going to get drunk on spaghetti.
The majority of the alcohol in the vodka is lowered throughout the cooking process, resulting in a rich texture that properly balances the remainder.
The vodka enhances the luscious, creamy tomato, basil, and cheese sauce.
‘Although it may have taken over 150 years of tomato expertise to introduce our first Heinz pasta sauce, we’re dedicated to continue inventing and delighting consumers with great flavours, at the speed of social media trends,’ said Caio Fontenele, Heinz new ventures director.
‘The iconic combination of Heinz’s high-quality tomato sauces and Absolut’s premium vodka is set to offer fans the ultimate pasta alla vodka experience.’
The ‘delicious’ sauce just needs to be warmed through cooked pasta on a hob, and it’s ready to eat.
Yum!
Jars will retail for £2.50 for 350g, and some can already be pre-ordered at www.heinztohome.co.uk.
