Pete Doherty has developed a respiratory infection, and has been forced to cancel his show on Thursday evening.
The musician has tested negative for Covid-19, but but was told by a doctor not to perform ‘under any circumstances’.
A statement posted to Pete’s social media read: ‘A doctor has been called to assess Peter’s condition tonight after he developed a high fever and shortness of breath.
‘Thankfully, he has tested negative for Covid-19, but has been diagnosed with a respiratory infection with requires immediate treatment.
‘Unfortunately he has been advised not to perform tonight under any circumstances, which was not a decision taken lightly, and he remains under close observation with the doctor.
‘Further updates tomorrow afternoon with regard to the weekend’s shows.’
Fans have shared the love for the star, with one writing: ‘Get well soon Peter, take care <3.’
‘Get well soon. Look after yourself, Peter. X,’ another said.
In recent years, Pete has swapped his rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle for a quieter life, settling down with his wife Katia de Vidas in France.
The pair tied the knot in November last year, at a ceremony at the Domaine Saint Clair hotel in the French city of Etretat, where they have lived together for the past three years.
Pete couldn’t resist sharing a song, getting on stage with The Libertines to perform the classic hit Don’t Look Back Into The Sun, and according to reports, his once estranged father Peter joined him to sing the 2002 track What A Waster.
The couple have been dating since 2016, after meeting when they formed the band Peter Doherty and the Puta Madres.
The Can’t Stand Me Now singer also revealed to BBC Scotland that he has been sober for over two years.
Pete said: ‘I’m in recovery I suppose, I’m two and a half years clean of heroin which is a big deal for me and yeah, I’m ticking along, writing music, still writing music.’
Prior to settling down with Katia, Pete was a headline staple due to his raucous partying, drug use and high-profile relationships.
Most famously, the musician dated Kate Moss on and off for two years after meeting at Kate’s 31st birthday party in early 2005.
