Despite coming home from the hospital and rumours that she was ‘getting better,’ Madonna is still vomiting incessantly and unable to leave her bed.
The Material Girl hitmaker, 64, was transported to the hospital and was expected to spend many days in intensive care owing to a severe bacterial illness.
The hospitalisation of the US singer was disclosed on Wednesday (June 28), along with the cancellation of her 40th-anniversary tour.
Her family was first concerned after she was discovered unconscious.
On Thursday, it was reported that she was ‘in the clear’ and was being transported back to her New York home in a private ambulance.
However, a fresh report on her status has been released, claiming she is “vomiting uncontrollably.”
A source claimed she was ‘still bedridden’ with those around her thinking ‘she’s in no shape to kick off her world tour’.
The insiders added to TMZ: ‘Madonna’s been vomiting uncontrollably since being discharged from the hospital, and the infection is still wreaking havoc on her body.’
They claimed she was ‘still too sick to get out of her bed’.
Her daughter Lourdes Leon, 26, is reported to have been at her side during the experience.
A family friend of the global superstar previously revealed how her relatives ‘prepared for the worst’ following the horrific ordeal as ‘everybody believed that they may lose her.’
‘For the past couple of days, no one really knew which direction this was going to turn, and her family was preparing for the worst,’ they shared.
‘That is why it was kept a secret since Saturday. Everyone believed that we may lose her, and that has been the reality of the situation,’ they added to Mail Online.
Her manager initially said in a social media message: ‘On Saturday, June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which lead to a several-day stay in the ICU.
‘Her health is improving, however, she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected.
‘At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour.
‘We will share more details with you soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows.’
Her tour was supposed to begin on Saturday, July 15, hitting venues across the United States before heading to Europe and the United Kingdom later this year.
