England players Lucy Bronze and Kiera Walsh have made it a memorable summer for Lionesses fans throughout the country, but there may be more to their tale off the pitch as well.
Lucy, 31, of FC Barcelona, and her midfield teammate, 26, will face Spain in the Women’s World Cup final, England’s first World Cup final since 1966.
The Lionesses advanced to their first World Cup final with victory against Nigeria, Colombia, and Australia, setting up the Sunday morning confrontation.
Lucy, who began her career at Sunderland before moving on to Manchester City and then Lyon in France, has three Champions League titles to her name.
Following the Lionesses’ triumph against Germany in the Women’s Euros final at Wembley in 2022, she was awarded an MBE earlier this year for her services to football.
Away from the pitch, Lucy is said to be dating her England and Barcelona colleague Keira, who was injured during the World Cup.
While the couple has never confirmed their relationship status publicly, they have appeared in countless personal and intimate photos together on Instagram.
The speculations gained weight when they both transferred from Manchester City to Barcelona at the same time, in the summer of 2022.
Keira began her professional career as a young player with Blackburn Rovers, where she spent six years before going Manchester City, the team she loves.
They have kept their suspected romance discreet, but have been posting images of themselves together on Instagram more and more in recent years.
She’s seen in other intimate images with Lucy, including a couple sun-soaked beach snaps taken in Los Angeles in 2022 while the two were on vacation.
Four years ago, they took a break in Lyon, where Lucy was playing at the time; she made 83 appearances for the French champions.
The two will have an opportunity to create history against Spain on Sunday, with the final taking place at the Accor Stadium in Sydney at 11 a.m. UK time.
After winning the Euros last year, the Lionesses would become the first England team to win a World Cup since the men’s squad in 1966.
