Alec Baldwin was in a festive mood when he took to Instagram to commemorate his final day on the set of Rust.
Filming was interrupted in 2021 after the 65-year-old actor unintentionally shot and murdered cameraman Halyna Hutchins on set.
Baldwin was charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter following the event, however the charges were recently withdrawn.
Hutchins’ family, on the other hand, is alleged to be pursuing a civil lawsuit against him.
Now, the Boss Baby star is nearing the end of his shoot with young actor Patrick Scott McDermott.
Alongside a picture of the pair, Baldwin wrote: ‘Last day on the set of RUST with this guy. A very talented actor and lovely young man with a bright future ahead. My love to you, @patrickscottmcdermott.’

Some fans were excited about the finished film, while others questioned whether the post was a touch ‘tone deaf’ given what happened on the same set less than two years ago.
‘Glad that you guys finished it. Lessons learned for whole industry (hopefully). RIP Halyna,’ wrote one person, while another said: ‘Looking forward to seeing the film!’
But not everyone was impressed with the post, as one follower wrote: ‘When I see this post I’m thinkink of the son of Halyna 😥. If he is also having a bright future ahead?’
Another said: ‘They still moved forward with the film. Sorry, but horribly poor taste. A human life was lost. Wth?’
‘Tone. Deaf,’ were the two words of another. [sic]
Baldwin has maintained throughout the court processes that he was unaware the rifle carried live bullets and has pleaded not guilty.
Hutchins’ family’s lawyer maintains Baldwin ‘cannot escape responsibility for his role in shooting and killing Halyna’.
Following the charges being dropped, Baldwin’s lawyers said: ‘We are pleased with the decision to dismiss the case against Alec Baldwin and we encourage a proper investigation into the facts and circumstances of this tragic accident.’
Armourer Hannah Guttierez-Reed was also charged with involuntary manslaughter, and while she pled not guilty, it is believed that her charges were not dismissed.
