One year after his late fiancée Danielle Hampson died, X Factor star Tom Mann paid a heartfelt tribute to her.
Tom is most known for his involvement as one of eight members of the boy band Stereo Kicks on the ITV singing competition in 2014.
After each member was first sent home as a single artist, the judges created the group, and they garnered a following of followers throughout their time on the programme.
Tom broke the heartbreaking news of Hampson’s death last June, expressing shock that he was obliged to issue such a statement.
Tom has paid homage to his late fiancee with a black and white photograph of her cradling their son Bowie one year later.
‘1 year, somehow,’ he penned.
‘1 year ago, I put on my suit expecting to meet you at that town hall & tell you “I do”. I ended up wearing it in a hospital waiting room.’
He added: ‘1 year ago, my biggest worry had been that unbearable heat. It was impossible to know the unbearable pain that was about to come.1 year ago, I had woken up beside you for the last time.
‘No answers to how or why, and no words to articulate any of these feelings. Nothing makes any sense & everything has changed. I don’t know why you couldn’t stay.’
He continued: ‘Dan, Bowie will know everything that you were to everyone that knew you. He will know your love & light over your loss.
‘I am so very grateful that someone as special as you chose me. Thank you for letting me love you.’
While they never married, Tom assured Hampson that he ‘will wear this ring that I was always supposed to wear as a sign of my unconditional love to you.’
Tom hosted a tribute for Hampson, resharing an Instagram story post that said, ‘Today was for our Dani,’ accompanied with a white heart emoji and a praying emoji.
He also posted a photo of the pair kissing, penning: ‘There are honestly no words to describe just how much I miss you Dan. Forever and always.’
Tom confessed to being ‘completely broken’ as he tried to process the tragedy, and admitted he ‘honestly doesn’t know where to go from here.’
