We might have been deprived of our Britain’s Got Talent fix in 2021, but there’s no denying the series has returned with a bang this year.
After falling victim to the pandemic last year, the ITV Saturday night staple has served up some fantastic acts over the past few weeks, with singers, magicians, dance acts, comedians and the occasional amazing canine performer all aiming to impress Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden.
And let’s not forget those five Golden Buzzer acts, all of whom have been given a pass straight to the live shows, in their bid to be crowned the series winner.
The final isn’t that far off now – but just when can we expect it?
When is the Britain’s Got Talent 2022 final?
At the moment the date of the final has not been confirmed by ITV.
However, we do know that the live semi-finals – when the 10 acts who will make it through to the final will be chosen – kick off on Monday May 30, and will run across the week.
So it seems likely that the final will be some time over the weekend of June 4-5 – either the Saturday or Sunday night – which this year is also the Jubilee bank holiday weekend.
However, there have also been years in which it has been aired the weekend after the semi-finals – meaning we would have to wait until June 11-12 to see it.
Either way, it won’t be long until the new series champion is crowned.
The semi-finals will see eight acts take to the stage every night, with two from each show advancing to the final.
These two will be the winners of that evening’s public vote, along with a second act chosen by the judges from the second and third most popular.
The five Golden Buzzer acts – Loren Allred, Axel Blake, Born To Perform, Keiichi Iwasaki and Flintz and T4ylor – all have a place in the live shows, while the remaining acts will be chosen by the judges from those who made it past the initial auditions.
However, none of them has a guaranteed pass to the final, and whether or not any of them make it will be down to the judges and the folks at home.
What does the winner of Britain’s Got Talent get?
As per usual, the winner of Britain’s Got Talent 2022 will nab themselves a two-part prize.
In addition to pocketing £250,000, they will also bag a spot on the bill at this year’s Royal Variety Performance, which is due to take place around late November/early December.
Britain’s Got Talent continues on Saturday nights on ITV at 8pm.
