TV reporter hit by car live on-air – but returns immediately to continue news broadcast in unbelievable scenes

A reporter who was hit by a car live on-air somehow managed to bounce back and continue with the broadcast straight away in scenes that were beyond belief.

On Wednesday evening, Tori Yorgey, a TV reporter for NBC affiliate WSAZ in West Virginia, US, was at the scene of a water main break in the city of Dunbar when the incident occurred.

While speaking to her colleague in the studio, a car came up behind Ms Yorgey, colliding with her back and causing her camera fell to the ground.

The reporter exclaimed as the collision came out of nowhere, maintaining her cool as she said: ‘Oh my God. I just got hit by a car, but I’m okay!’

It appeared that the in-studio anchor Tim Irr couldn’t see what was going on, as he asked Ms Yorgey if she was alright.

Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle in question called out asking if the reporter was alright, as Ms Yorgey light-heartedly quipped: ‘That’s live TV for ya!’

As the reporter fixed her camera, she got up from the ground, having explained that she previously got hit by a car in a similar manner when she was in college.

When Ms Yorgey was back in focus on screen, she could be seen assuring the driver – who was off-camera – that everything was fine.

‘Ma’am, you’re so sweet, and you are okay,’ she told the woman, before adding: ‘You know, it’s my last week on the job and I think this would happen.’

‘So were you bumped down low Tori or were you hit up high, I couldn’t really tell from looking at you,’ Mr Irr asked.

‘I don’t even know Tim,’ Ms Yorgey replied: ‘My whole life just flashed before my eyes, but this is live TV and everything’s ok. I thought I was in a safe spot but clearly we might need to move the camera over a bit.’

Mr Irr explained to viewers that in the area that his colleague was reporting from, there were a lot of emergency vehicles in the vicinity, which can cause confusion for other drivers.
