Remember TV host Kanoa Lloyd, who made a huge mistake while live on air.
This week, The Project New Zealand’s host presented a section about some major news concerning the reappearance of three Cadbury Roses varieties.
However, a slip of the tongue left her and the panel in stitches as she unintentionally dropped an X-rated blunder.
The 36-year-old was reading from an autocue when her pronunciation of ‘comeback’ was spelt incorrectly.
‘Longtime fans of Cadbury chocolates will be saying thank you very much with the return of three original flavours,’ she began.
‘After getting ditched in 2018, strawberry creme, orange creme and peppermint creme are making a c**box,’ she said.
Kanoa quickly realised her error and covered her face with her hands while laughing.
Patrick Gower, her co-host, jumped in to clarify.
‘Comeback is the term I believe,’ he said.
‘It’s not a nightmare…we are actually on live TV,’ he added as Kanoa did her best to compose herself.
The incident piqued the interest of many on the other side of the Atlantic, with their Antipodean counterparts over at The Project Australia not missing an opportunity to mock the gaffe.
Before presenting the footage, host Sam Taunton quipped that there was a ‘really sad and scary news from the confectionery industry’ on an edition of that show.
‘Oh no. Oh boy those sound hard to swallow,’ he quipped, before the studio audience gasped and laughed at his cheeky joke.
This is far from the first time the panel chat programme has been involved in some rather embarrassing on-air situations, with one famous blunder occuring a decade ago.
Carrie Bickmore, the host of The Project Australia, uttered another C-word in 2012 when trying to pronounce the airline Qantas.
‘Virgin’s targeting key corporate routes hoping to win over C***-tas, excuse me, Qantas customers,’ she said, realising her mistake right away and looking shocked.
Without missing a beat, her then co-host Charlie Pickering quipped: ‘That address you’ll need is YouTube.com.’
The host later shared an apology on social media, joking that: ‘Any publicity is good publicity right??!! Sorry Qantas Airways and my nan.’
The Project airs on Three in New Zealand.
