Tom Hanks will host a TV special in celebration of America’s next president Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris on January 20.
Often described as Hollywood’s nicest star, it makes sense that the world’s favorite movie star will front the show titled, Celebrating America.
The 90-minute TV special will culminate in the inauguration of Biden and Harris, after viewers will get to enjoy appearances from stars such as Justin Timberlake, Jon Bon Jovie and Demi Lovato.
According to Deadline, Celebrating America will air on multiple US networks including ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, and CNN.
The special will also be available on Amazon Prime Video, Microsoft Bing, and NewsNOW from Fox.
AT&T DIRECTV and U-verse will also cover the special, while it will be shown on the Presidential Inaugural Committee’ social media feeds.
Biden and Harris’ swearing in at noon on January 20th is still scheduled to occur on the Capitol steps.
However, Americans have been encouraged not to travel to the location following the insurrection on January 6.
The inauguration will be virtual for the most part much like last summer’s Democratic National Convention was.
PIC CEO Tony Allen in a statement: ‘This inauguration presents a unique opportunity to spotlight the resilience and spirit of an America United.
‘We have witnessed countless heroes this past year step up to the frontlines and serve their fellow Americans, so we are telling their stories, spreading their collective light, and celebrating the best of our country and its people with this prime-time program.’
He continued: ‘Our first priority is safety — so while many of us will be watching safely from our homes, we are creating real moments of connection that highlight a new inclusive American era of leadership that works for and represents all Americans.’
