The cast of Lucifer have sat down for their last table read as work on the show’s final season gets underway.
The supernatural series, starring Tom Ellis as the titular devil who helps the LAPD solve crimes, will bow out after season six.
Co showrunner Joe Henderson was feeling emotional as he shared a picture from a readthrough with the original cast when the show began, which included stars such as Tom, Lauren German and D.B. Woodside.
He wrote on Twitter: ‘Just had the final table read of #Lucifer ever. All the emotions. Love this incredible family. Since I can’t share a picture of it for spoiler reasons, here is the first table read (after the pilot). We’ve come a long way…’
Actor D.B. retweeted Joe’s message and added devil, praying hands and angel emoji.
He also tweeted his thoughts after filming his last scene with his ‘brother’ Tom last week, and couldn’t hold back the tears.
‘Last scene with my brother. @tomellis17…and I can not stop crying.
‘Thank you for everything, brother. You are a divine talent and a true Gentleman. I love you mate.’
Tom shared his tweet and replied: ‘I love you brother. That was ridiculously tough to get through but like every scene we have done over the years….I enjoyed every minute of it.
‘Thank you for being such a force and such a friend…you are the real deal.’
The show has been saved numerous times from cancellation since it was axed by Fox in 2016 before Netflix picked it up for season four.
The second half of season five is set to arrive on our screens soon, but has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Lucifer seasons 1-3 are available on Amazon Prime Video, and seasons 4 and 5 are available on Netflix.
