The Coronation Street Party this morning didn’t go ahead without a hitch as the skies opened in Manchester, forcing the celebrations inside.
To commemorate the momentous event this weekend, the breakfast TV show relocated to the set of the long-running soap.
The celebration on the Corrie cobbles saw hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary join the actors, as well as fans who had won tickets to participate in the fun.
While the rain held off for the majority of the concert, it became a little damp and windy in the last 30 minutes, driving many into the Rovers Return Inn and other portions of the set.
When it began to rain when Phil Vickery was attempting to make some royal rolls outside, he encountered some complications.
‘It was literally sunny five minutes ago,’ Dermot said, as he walked slightly off screen to pick up some umbrellas from producers.
Phil was determined to keep going, but everyone else was laughing as the rain grew harder.
‘You know what would make that better – if I was eating it inside,’ Dermot said as hailstones hit.
‘This is so unfair. How is this happening,’ he added.
If there's one thing that's predictable about British weather, it's how unpredictable it can be!

As it became evident that everyone outdoors was getting wet, Alison took over and said that it was time for an ad break.
When they returned, everyone had gone underground to stay warm and dry.
‘Welcome back. It rained. We are now inside. I look like a drowned rat and we are in the Rover’s,’ she said.
Meanwhile her co-host added: ‘It just started to spit, and we thought it would be fine, but four minutes later…’
But as Alison explained, ‘this is just the British weather’.
Making it through the later half of the programme reasonably undamaged, Alison laughed about the gloomy weather again as they were signing off for the day, encouraging people watching at home to’stay dry’ in the coming days ahead of rainy forecasts.
The royal celebrations come after Alison had the opportunity to meet Prince William and Kate Middleton in recent weeks.
Last week, the TV Queen casually hung out with the country’s future king and queen, playing darts with them and even invited them to her home for dinner.
She did, however, make a slight gaffe by failing to address them by their appropriate titles.
Speaking about what happened on This Morning last week, Alison said she ‘led [Prince William] down the stairs, holding his hand… and on the way down the stairs, I remember that I hadn’t done “Your Royal Highness” or bowed.
‘So then I bowed, awkwardly on the stairs, holding his hand!’
Alison insisted she didn’t call him ‘babs’ but left William ‘giggling’ when she told him her mistake.
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
