The Voice Kids has been cancelled by ITV after six seasons.
Pixie Lott, Will.i.am, Ronan Keating, and Danny Jones serve as coaches for the singing competition and compete against one another with their teams to discover the next musical star.
Despite gaining a devoted following since it debuted in 2017, the programming won’t be back on television in 2018.
An ITV spokesperson said: ‘After seven fantastic series on ITV1 and ITVX, The Voice Kids is taking a break in 2024.
‘We’re working with Lifted Entertainment on The Voice UK for 2024 and development of The Voice branded specials.’
It’s been asserted that the choice was made in response to a downturn in the appeal of talent competitions.
A source said: ‘The show had a good run and had its own fanbase, but execs are keen to free up scheduling space for other new programming to keep ideas as fresh as possible.’
They added to The Sun: ‘The cast have great memories from the series, but have plenty of other projects to keep them busy.’
The announcement follows the twin sisters Andrea and Shanice Nyandoro’s victory in the most recent series, who received an amazing family vacation to Florida’s Universal Orlando Resort.
Will’s squad included Andrea and Shanice, while pop sensation Pixie had won the previous three rounds.
Previous winners include Israella Chris, Justine Afante, Daniel Davies, Sam Wilkinson, Jess Folley, and Torrin Cuthill.
Some well-known people have even tried out for the programme, with Neil the Baby from Gavin & Stacey rocking out during the blind auditions earlier this year in the ultimate throwback.
Over the years, The Voice Kids has hosted a number of coaches, including Jessie J, Paloma Faith, and Melanie C in prior seasons.
All seven seasons of the programme, as well as the adult version, were presented by Emma Willis.
Emma, a former Big Brother presenter, was thrilled to get the presenting job.
She said: ‘Hosting The Voice Kids will be like being at my house on a Saturday night; lots of kids singing, with me trying to keep some kind of order.
‘Thankfully, the musical genius that is Will.i.am is there to bring some expertise to the table. It’s going to be pretty awesome.’
