Guy Ritchie’s Netflix series, The Gentlemen, has been a fan favourite and well scored on sites like Rotten Tomatoes, so it’s no wonder that fans are begging for a second season.
The eight-part series, starring Theo James from The White Lotus, follows toff Eddie, who suddenly becomes the proprietor of a cannabis farm. The ensemble includes famed hardmen Vinnie Jones and Ray Winstone.
After being involved in the illegal organisation, which is controlled by the hard-nosed mobster Susie (Kaya Scodelario), bloodshed, turmoil, and mischief ensue, as Eddy is drawn more into the evil side.
Meanwhile, his brother, Freddie, played by Daniel Ings, fared no better and continued to have run-ins with violent criminals, earning him the title of’most unpleasant character in TV history.’
With a dramatic finale that lays the path for a second season, fans, who scored the programme an incredible 83% on Rotten Tomatoes, have demanded more.
Irwin was among the hundreds on X begging for season 2, writing: I’ve just finished #TheGentlemen and, frankly, this series is just crazy – the plot twists, the main duo… Can’t wait for season 2.’

Here is everything we know about the future of The Gentlemen.
Will there be a season 2 of The Gentlemen?
Netflix has yet to confirm or announce a second season of The Gentlemen, but it was originally planned as an ongoing series with numerous seasons.
According to Deadline, Guy has already pitched storyline ideas for season 2, while the boss of the show’s production company confirmed they’ve ‘started the process’ on a follow-up instalment.
‘There are some writers we’ve talked to, certainly lots of discussion with Guy about what he might want to do in a second season, what things to focus on,’ Marc Helwig, Miramax’s head of worldwide television, told the publication.
Marc, however, did warn that season 2 was dependent on the performance of the first season, adding: ‘But it’s been an active ongoing discussion already what a second season would be.’
And if The Gentlemen is a huge success, Marc says it won’t just end with season 2 and could potentially’spawn some type of world’, including a new movie.
Giancarlo Esposito, who portrays villain Stanley Johnston in The Gentlemen, another drug kingpin who wants to take over Susie and Eddy’s pot empire, expressed his desire for a second season.
He told Digital Spy: ‘Nothing was ever discussed of a second season. But when you’re in the last episode of the first season – a really great scene, I love Ray Winstone – then you know, we have the possibility of going further. And I think the show does as well.’
Similarly, Alexis Rodney, who plays Stanley’s lawyer Stevens in the eight-parter, teased the possibility of a season 2 to the Radio Times.
He said: ‘Who knows what the future holds. Stevens is running free with his Machiavellian ways, up to mischief somewhere. I hope it goes to season two.
‘When you look back to really great shows like The Wire, with the magic of writing we can still have those guys, their prison world going on, we can explore that, with young Stevens on the outside, maybe making some visits in you know to handle business. That’s the route I want to go because I want to be in it.’
Let’s keep our fingers crossed.
The Gentlemen season one is available to stream on Netflix.
