The Chase’s Paul Sinha is being lined up to front a brand new ITV quiz show all about the small screen.
It’s been claimed that the quizzer, also known as The Sinnerman, has struck a deal with the broadcaster to host a programme titled Paul Sinha’s TV Showdown, which will see teams of celebs go head-to-head over their television knowledge.
Although ITV is already home to the likes of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? and Tipping Point, bosses are said to be keen on exploring this new avenue.
‘There’s an abundance of quiz shows on ITV already, but one just about telly hasn’t been done in a while,’ a TV Insider said.
‘This is a fresh take on a familiar format. It’s like Telly Addicts meets Celebrity Juice, with the popular Paul Sinha at the helm.’
The source continued to The Sun: ‘It won’t be as mad as Celebrity Juice, but it will have two teams of celeb guests going head-to-head.’
Quizzing champion Paul announced he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s last year, and has been staying positive as he lives with the disease.
In a recent appearance on Loose Women, the 50-year-old opened up about how he felt after his diagnosis, confessing he saw it coming after his career as a GP.
The Chaser had been suffering from a sudden on-set of a frozen right shoulder, telling the panellists that, at first, ‘not one of my medical friends who saw my shoulder thought anything was going on.’
There has been a number of reports of a whole host of celebrities in talks for new game shows on ITV over the past few months.
In July, Gordon Ramsay was linked to a quiz show titled Bank Balance, which was said to be of a similar format to Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?.
More recently, however, Cat Deeley was in talks to host a brand new ‘big-money’ gameshow and had reportedly already filmed a pilot episode for the potential series.
