After Susanna Reid defended Prince Harry’s popularity, viewers on Good Morning Britain clicked their fingers in admiration.
The Duke of Sussex will testify in London’s High Court as part of an action against Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN), now controlled by Reach Plc, in which he and 100 other celebrities are involved.
During the debut of his Netflix documentary Spare, Harry accuses other top royals of conspiring with the media.
On Monday’s edition of the morning show, Royal historian Angela Levin and former BBC journalist Tom Bower weighed in on Harry’s role in the case.
After Levin branded Harry as a ‘moaning, groaning individual,’ Susanna responded: ‘I’m not sure having 16 bathrooms lessens his grievance if he feels he has been hard done by.
‘We know that Prince Harry, putting it mildly, does not like how he’s been treated by the British press.
‘This has got nothing to do with Meghan [Markle].’
Viewers praised Susanna for coming to Harry’s defence, with one person writing: ‘Well done susana ried for telling these 2 they are making money by slating harry & meghan!![sic].’

Last month, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were embroiled in a ‘almost disastrous’ paparazzi chase in New York on Tuesday night that lasted more than two hours.
A spokesperson said: ‘This relentless pursuit, lasting over two hours, resulted in multiple near collisions involving other drivers on the road, pedestrians and two NYPD (New York Police Department) officers.’
They added: ‘Despite being confronted by uniformed police multiple times, the paparazzi’s cars continued their pursuit in trying to follow the Sussexes and Doria to the private residence they were staying at.
‘Traffic violations by the drivers include driving on a sidewalk, going through red lights, reversing down a one way street, driving while photographing and illegally blocking a moving vehicle.
‘While being a public figure comes with a level of interest from the public, it should never come at the cost of anyone’s safety.’
