Rose Ayling-Ellis provided one of the most moving TV moments of the year with her Strictly Come Dancing win, and she’s also inspiring more people to apply to learn sign language.
The spectacular final saw Rose and Giovanni face off against John Whaite and Johannes Radebe, and the EastEnders star has made a huge impact during her time on the programme.
According to language learning site Preply, the demand for learning sign language has increased by 100% over the series.
The EastEnders actress and her partner Giovanni stood with raised jazz hands after each performance on the series, which sparked a 750% increase in the search demand for ‘sign language for clapping’
As fans will remember, Rose and partner Giovanni also said thank you in sign language to the public and judges, which led to a 267% increase in the number of searches for ‘how to say thank you in sign language’ in the UK.
The series has raised awareness no end – and the 27-year-old has been floored by the response from fans during the series.
