Rhys Stephenson was the man of the moment tonight, as he and partner Nancy Xu scored top marks with their Charleston.
Dancing to The Charleston by Bob Wilson and his Varsity Rhythm Boys, the presenter, 28, and his partner, 30, had the judges on their feet in awe.
They delivered a faultless performance, with judge Motsi Mabuse branding it ‘the best Charleston we have seen’ on the current season.
After receiving a standing ovation and glowing reviews from the panel, the CBBC star scored 10s across the board, with even Craig Revel Horwood digging out his highest scoring panel for the second time this series.
After battling it out in the dance-off just three weeks ago, Rhys was understandably in shock with his shiny score.
As the scores were revealed, he dropped to the floor in amazement and covered his face with his hands as he became emotional.
Pro dancer Nancy was also thrilled, as she beamed and hugged her partner with pride.
Their energetic routine was the second dance to score 40 out of 40 this series, with Rose Ayling-Ellis and partner Giovanni Pernice making Strictly history by scoring the earliest 40 two weeks ago with their Tango.
A few of the other couples have come close, with John Whaite and Johannes Radebe and AJ Odudu and Kai Widdrington scoring 39s for previous dances.
While Rhys sat comfortably at the top of the leaderboard tonight, AJ and Kai found themselves at the bottom after the judges criticised their Paso Doble.
However, all could change when the results show airs tomorrow night, as viewers take control and vote for the couples they want to save.
Watch Strictly Come Dancing: The Results tomorrow at 7:20pm on BBC One.
