Cynthia Erivo stepped in to judge for a second time on Strictly Come Dancing, and while fans were in awe of her critique, one frustrated viewer expressed she should ‘never judge again.’
The 34-year-old Oscar nominee, who was recently cast as Elphaba in the movie adaptation of Wicked, stepped in for Motsi Mabuse who missed this weekend’s show after being in close contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19.
Most viewers were delighted to see her return for another week, however, Cynthia couldn’t help expose an unimpressed fan who shared a contrasting opinion.
One person wrote on social media: ‘Love love love you on Strictly, thank you for giving some excellent critiques.’
But another shared: ‘Please never judge on Strictly again.
‘Ruined two weeks in a row with your horrendous scoring.’
The actress poked fun of the criticism on her Instagram Story, captioning the post with laughing emoij with the message: ‘@BBC STRICTLY SPLITTING OPINIONS!!’
The multi-award-winning star was a hit with fans when she stood in for Craig Revel Horwood earlier this month, after he tested positive for coronavirus during the musicals round.
She was particularly taken with Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice’s Frozen-inspired quickstep, and was praised for using sign language when sharing her comments.
‘Rose’s face lit up when Cynthia signed to her and I think that really sums up just how amazing it’s been to have her on a prime time show,’ a fan tweeted at the time.
‘Aw Rose’s face when Cynthia signed to her! That was special. Great addition to the judging panel,’ someone else said.
‘Wow!! That was so so special that Cynthia signed to Rose herself. So so beautiful,’ another person remarked.
Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 6.40pm on BBC One.
