Sharon Osbourne has revealed the sad reason she will only appear on Celebrity Big Brother for a few days.
Earlier this week, the former X Factor judge, 71, entered the house alongside Louis Walsh, but it was soon revealed she would be a’special house guest’ for up to five days.
Although it was initially assumed that this was due to producers being unable to afford her salary demands for a longer stay, she has since stated that she does not want to be away from her family for an extended period of time.
Former Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne, 75, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease five years ago and has since suffered from mobility issues and chronic pain.
Sharon has now stated that her appearance on the reality TV show was cut short so that she could help care for him.
‘I don’t want to stay away from Ozzy for too long,’ she said.
‘We’re so close as a family. I don’t think I have ever gone a week without talking to any of them, ever. Through fights, feuds, everything. We still talk and this will definitely be the longest.
‘I don’t know how I’m going to cope,’ she added when speaking to The Sun.
Since a fall in 2019, Ozzy has had four back operations.
He’s been pictured using a wheelchair and walkers since, and he declared in September that he’d only have one more surgery, regardless of the outcome.
Ozzy told Rolling Stone UK last year that his recent operations had ‘knocked me about’.
‘The second surgery went drastically wrong and virtually left me crippled. I thought I’d be up and running after the second and third, but with the last one they put a f**king rod in my spine. They found a tumour in one of the vertebrae, so they had to dig all that out too. It’s pretty rough, man, and my balance is all f**ked up,’ he said.
The performer also said he believed he had about a decade left to live.
‘At best, I’ve got ten years left and when you’re older, time picks up speed,’ he said.
Sharon added: ‘It’s been nearly five years of heartache, and at times I’ve just felt so helpless and so bad for Ozzy, to see him going through the pain.’
Celebrity Big Brother continues tonight at 9pm on ITV1.
