It has been reported that the late Sean Lock will be commemorated in a special tribute during Stand Up To Cancer 2023.
The humanitarian show, which last broadcast on Channel 4 in 2021, is due to return this year.
Sean, the star of 8 Out of 10 Cats, died in August of that year at the age of 58 after being diagnosed with cancer.
It has officially been revealed that Stand Up To Cancer will take place on Friday, November 3, to commemorate the decade-long telethon put on by Channel 4 and Cancer Research UK, which began in 2012.
The performance will reflect back on Sean’s comic talents as part of the evening’s festivities, which will deliver chuckles throughout the country while simultaneously generating crucial funds for cancer research.
The presentation will conclude with video from Sean’s 2010 act, Sean Lock: Lockipedia, which was taped at London’s Hammersmith Apollo for his sell-out tour.
Stand Up To Cancer 2023 promises to be a star-studded event, with appearances from Rhod Gilbert, Davina McCall, Adam Hills, Joe Lycett, and Munya Chawawa.
It raised a staggering £31,169,340 from the broadcast in 2021, and given that the number has risen with each event, let’s hope that trend continues.
SU2C: The Takeover will feature a 90-minute live event with a slew of prominent names, including Rita Ora, Oti Mabuse, Cush Jumbo, and more.
Among the evening’s highlights will be the all-new Celebrity Gogglebox and the scary climax to Don’t Look Down, in which a team of celebrities will attempt a world-first relay highwire walk above the London Stadium, which will host the 2012 Olympics.
The night will conclude with The SU2C Comedy Roast, hosted by Rhod and including performances by Ellie Taylor, Danny Beard, and Nish Kumar.
Comics Sara Barron, Thanyia Moore, Bobby Mair, Harriet Kemsley, Fatiha El-Ghorri, and Larry Dean will take part in a ‘roast roulette’ that is likely to produce both chuckles and screams.
Stand Up To Cancer 2023 will air on Friday November 3 on Channel 4.
