On Tuesday’s This Morning, Philip Schofield had to swiftly interrupt a pre-recorded film of Gino D’Acampo before the Italian chef was misinterpreted as shouting an X-rated term.
The famous chef has already dealt with similar challenges, with one memorable event from 2019 being a highlight moment in This Morning history.
Gino made a sloppy mistake when trying to pronounce ‘inhale it,’ resulting in the profanity ‘analate’ being repeated.
He’s previously made fans and broadcaster Holly Willoughby laugh with his pronunciations of terms like ‘sheet’.
Nevertheless, before anybody could say what they believed Gino said on today’s episode, Phil jumped in and clarified what was going on.
‘Lots on the way, including an Italian escape with Gino,’ Phil said as he introduced viewers to Gino’s newest Italian escapade.
‘What I really want to know is why Sardinian cork is so exceptional,’ Gino says in the footage. And how many corks do you make each day?’
‘More or less, we produce two million corks,’ said the expert.
Phil was quick to jump in, exclaiming, ‘No, no, no, stop!’ after hearing the word three times.
He went on, ‘He’s at a cork factory,’ emphasising the word in question.
‘It’s cork! A wine cork plant in Sardinia.
‘There’s more from Gino with his questionable pronunciation,’ Phil went on.
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
