Do you have an air fryer and aren’t sure what to do with it? Or perhaps you’re wondering about air fryers? Channel 5 provides all of the answers you could ever want.
Surprisingly, the channel now has an entire roster of documentaries dedicated to the popular gadget.
If you’re unfamiliar with the air fryer, we can tell you that you’re missing out on a lot of hour-long talks while also maximising kitchen surface space.
Don’t ask Channel 5 about those diabolical plastic ovens of healthy pleasure; they’ll eat your ear out for 3.5 hours over four documentaries.
That’s correct. Broadcaster and TV critic Scott Bryan noticed a pattern in a viral tweet, in which he posted the new Channel 5 air fryer documentary announcement, and pointed out: ‘The fourth Channel 5 documentary on air fryers in three months.’
Hilariously, Channel 5’s air fryer department go-to presenter, Alexis Conran, who fronts all the shows, apologised and smiled in response to the X post.
Everyone was just as bewildered as Scott, as Ian Pinnell commented: ‘It won’t be long until they release their own range of air fryers, under the brand “5Fry”.’
‘Channel 5 has turned into Alan Partridge “if you don’t do it Sky will”,’ joked user @nathanhickton.
Others were forced to agree with the allure of the air fryer, as @C0nn0R_25 wrote: ‘Admit it, you absolutely bloody love ‘em!!!’
Vanessa Feltz met up with air fryer guy Alexis and Miguel Barclay to see how the cumbersome kitchen equipment can convert your roast into luscious, holiday perfection.
But little did we know, Channel 5 was about to enter its air fryer age in 2024, with not one, but three additional documentaries on the subject.
We had an issue with leftovers after cooking our excellent feasts in an air fryer over Christmas.
On January 3, Channel 5 aired Air Fryers vs Microwaves: Which is Better, the hot topic of the day.
There’s a full 60 minutes of comparison gold to enjoy. And get this: you have till 2027 to watch it.
Just in case Channel 5 viewers didn’t get the message from their first two documentaries, they released another less than two weeks later titled Air Fryers: Do You Know What You’re Missing?
Okay, sorry, Channel 5! We’ll watch it, and we’ll adore air fryers. All hail air fryers, our only mode of transportation for food.
This episode, again hosted by Alexis – a bit of an expert at this point – surprisingly sets air fryers against one another, comparing which brands, models, and sizes are the best. We have officially pricked our ears.
‘We offer you the rundown on the cheapest, smallest, biggest, most luxury, most extravagant air fryers, with the greatest attachments, such the steamer option and the one that can BBQ in the yard,’ the description states. Oh, hi, new pastime.
However, all of our air fryer experiments resulted in a lot of food. Fortunately, Channel 5 has stepped in to rescue the day once more, with their fourth documentary about air fryers, which will broadcast – stop for laughing – on February 28.
We cannot wait that long, Channel 5. Sort things out.
Air Fryers: The Easy Way To Lose Weight airs Wednesday 28th February at 9pm on Channel 5.
