Love Island’s Gemma Owen isn’t about to be surprised by another ex entering the villa, despite reports.
The 19-year-old international dressage rider was left gobsmacked in scenes that aired on Friday night after learning her former partner Jacques O’Neill is the latest bombshell to arrive.
Since then, it’s been claimed that Gemma will be shocked when another former flame, Cameron Green, enters the ITV2 dating show.
However, Metro.co.uk can confirm that not only did the pair not date but Callum has not been snapped up for the series.
It had been reported that Wrexham footballer Cameron was waiting on the sidelines to be drafted into Love Island.
‘Her family really liked him, especially as he was a sporty, hard-working footballer,’ an insider said. ‘His entry into the villa later in the season could tug on her heart strings.’
The source added to The Sun: ‘He and Gemma have a great connection, and they look great together.’
However, Metro.co.uk understands that Callum has not been signed up to appear in the series.
A spokesperson for Gemma added: ‘Gemma and Cameron have never dated. They are just friends.’
So, Gemma can rest easy for the time being.
Newcomer Jacques is set to enter the villa in scenes that air on Sunday night and he has vowed to bring ‘laughs’ and ‘good vibes’.
The 23-year-old professional rugby player from Cumbria explained why he was single in an interview released ahead of his arrival.
‘I split up with my ex and then I was seeing someone else,’ he said.
‘I was concentrating so much on my rugby and then I had that injury. I think it needs to be the right person, at the right time.’
The newcomer, who said he would be most likely to take a date for a walk rather than dinner or drinks to ‘see what she’s about’, added that he falls in love ‘quick’.
‘I literally know if they’re going to be my girlfriend within a week,’ Jacques continued.
