Cat Deeley, a new This Morning presenter, reportedly turned down a £43,000 per episode role in lieu of the ITV gig.
The 47-year-old actress will co-host the daily show with former Good Morning Britain anchor Ben Shephard.
The two will succeed Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, who both quit within months of one other.
Cat has previously co-hosted a few special episodes with Rylan Clark, but she had declined the This Morning invitation and described her appearance as a ‘one-off’.
She reportedly chose to host So You Think You Can Dance in America instead, leaving ITV executives ‘gutted’ at the moment.
However, it has now been revealed that Cat sacrificed her £43,000 per episode salary.
The Sun instead notes she’ll be earning an annual salary of £550,000 on This Morning, which is supposedly £150,000 less than Holly and Schofield.
Speaking about her new role, Cat said: ‘I can’t wait to be a part of the team, from the crew and producers, to the brilliant presenters.
‘I’ve been hosting solo for the past few years and I’ve really missed that sense of camaraderie, it will be great to be a part of such an incredible team.’
She added: ‘As I’ve previously said, This Morning is a national institution. Whenever it’s on it’s like having your friends over, funny, smart, silly, heartfelt, informative and joyful – like all the greatest friendships!’
Cat began her presenting career on SMTV Live with Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, as well as the music spin-off CD:UK with Holly.
She went on to host So You Think You Can Dance in America, after appearances on Fame Academy and Stars in Their Eyes.
Presenters Josie Gibson, Dermot O’Leary, and Alison Hammond have been stepping in for Holly, 42, and Schofield, 61, who both left the daytime show within weeks of each other.
Holly, who has returned to ITV as a presenter on Dancing On Ice, left This Morning in October after 14 years, stating that it was a bittersweet farewell.
Schofield resigned from ITV in May, confessing to a ‘unwise but not unlawful affair’.
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV1.
