A married couple who used Naked Attraction to find someone to join their relationship may not have gotten the results they hoped for, but they are now inviting anybody who is interested to contact them.
Last month, Abbie and Charlie Bagdonas came on the reality dating show in search of a woman to form their dream “throuple.”
While Abbie, 29, a mother of four, said they were very happy, they were looking for someone to join them after experimenting with threesomes, a partner swap, and a swingers’ club visit.
Charlie, 28, was originally concerned that his wife, who came out as bisexual in 2019, would ‘go off with another lady,’ but after many conversations, they decided to open their marriage.
He did admit, though, that it was ‘difficult to find someone who is open to the notion of getting to know a couple,’ which is why they chose to sign up for the programme after not having much luck on any of the dating apps.
When they were screening six singles for a chance to win a date with the couple, it was 22-year-old Abbie who piqued their interest, and sparks soon flew after they chose her.
‘She came to stay with us for the weekend and we had sex with her. We then met her several times more over the next six months until last November. And every time we did, we slept with her,’ Abbie told The Sun.
‘We did form a connection and we were texting her all the time…we would walk down the street holding hands and it felt normal. It was nice to be open about it all.’
But eventually ‘life got in the way’ and they were unable to ‘find the right balance’.
They described former heavyweight boxer David Haye’s relationship with girlfriend Sian Osborne as ‘inspiring,’ as did their throuple romance with Mica Jova after parting from singer Una Healy.
‘He has come out and said it’s OK to have a throuple,’ Abbie said.
While they continue to look for a third person, the couple has shown the episode to some of their children in the meantime.
‘The eldest has told us she respects what we do but doesn’t want to watch it. But our youngest daughter has watched it and told us she loves it,’ Abbie said.
The pair has stated that, while they selected Lizzie, they would not mind if the other ladies on the show’reach out to us’.
Last month, Channel 4 announced plans to create a dating show that would explore polyamory as a “ground-breaking experiment.”
‘Whereas Love Island is all about coupling up to win, this show will actively encourage contestants to have more than one partner,’ a source told The Sun.
They added that it seemed ‘David’s ménage à trois has inspired men and women to delve into this steamy new world.’
