Myleene Klass, Amir Khan, and Helen Flanagan are attempting the most difficult challenge in I’m A Celebrity history.
Carol Vorderman, Fatima Whitbread, and Jordan Banjo are among the celebrities who will compete in the gruelling Bushtucker trials for the title of ultimate champion.
However, the road to victory was never easy, as Monday’s bank holiday preview demonstrates.
Former Countdown anchor Carol reads on the next episode: Celebrities, it is now time for three of you to take part in today’s Trial, World’s End.
‘The names are here: Amir, Helen and Myleene.’
Series 17 winner Georgia Toffolo tells Helen: ‘You’ve got to do better this time. Sorry to be savage, but you have to.’
No pressure then!
When the trio arrives at the Trial, they discover they will be facing the highest Trial in the show’s history.
They’ve been informed that they’ll be ascending a crane-like apparatus 1,100 metres up in order to detach stars and connect them to themselves.
A slightly nervous Amir stresses: ‘Camp’s been eating well… we have to get through this. We’ve got a strong team today. We’re going to make sure we have another feast tonight.’
Helen, a former Coronation Street actress renowned for bailing out of trials, tells hosts Ant and Dec: ‘Guys, I’m not going to let you down, I’m going to do it.’
Gillian and Shaun Ryder, Phil Tufnell and Georgia ‘Toff’ Toffolo, and Andy Whyment and Jordan Banjo competed in a Bushtucker Trial on Friday night, but it was Shaun and Gillian who were sent packing after failing spectacularly at a fairly terrifying challenge.
They were both ‘gutted’ to be eliminated first once their removal was verified, as they weren’t prepared.
‘I’m sad to leave because I really wanted to stay,’ Gillian said.
When asked what went wrong during the trial, the Scottish star explained: ‘There were quite a few snakes in there, and one of the heads popped out and I got such a fright. I put my hand in, I went down, and something wrapped itself around my hand and I couldn’t shift it.’
I’m A Celebrity South Africa continues tonight at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
