Martha Kalifatidis of Married at First Sight Australia has stated that she was disappointed when she learned the gender of her pregnant kid.
Make-up artist Martha, 34, was paired with teacher Michael Brunelli, 31, in the sixth season of the reality TV series in 2019.
After announcing in September that they were expecting their first child, the couple revealed the gender of their kid earlier this week.
However, Martha later admitted that she was ‘devastated’ to find she was expecting a boy.
‘Guys I was 100% sure I was having a girl, like I had only opened girl clothing tabs on my phone, I was so convinced,’ she said when being interviewed on KISS FM’s radio show Will & Woody.
‘There was no chance in my mind it was going to be a boy, I had planned my whole life for this girl.
“I’ll be so honest with you guys. At the beginning, I was devastated like I was so upset.’
She added: ‘It took me a few days to like come to terms with it.’
With their baby coming in March, the couple uploaded a video earlier this week where they wrote: ‘Oh boy, do we have news’.
In the video, Martha flaunted her baby belly before the movie moved to a sonogram in which the pair urged the sonologist not to reveal the gender.
They claimed that they decided to find out the gender of their first kid by having a jeweller create a diamond ring with either blue or pink diamonds in it.
They also uploaded multiple videos of relatives and friends guessing the gender.
However, when Michael opened the box containing the ring and announced that they were having a boy, the couple embraced and celebrated the news.
Former MAFS bride Jules Robinson, who participated on the same season as the pair and has now married and had a kid with her match Cameron Merchant, replied on the picture with ‘congratulations’.
Married at First Sight is streaming on Channel 4.
