After learning the nature of Will Young’s affair with Layla Al-Momani, Love Island star Jessie Wynter stated she loves him.
Several of the initial girls from the main villa met up with ousted candidates who joined during Casa Amor on last night’s episode of the ITV2 competition to find out what happened with the males in their absence.
After Will admitted to being unfaithful, kissing Layla behind Jessie’s back at the recoupling ceremony, Jessie, Claudia Fogarty, and Samie Elishi sat down with Lydia Karakyriakou, Cynthia Otseh-Taiwo, and Layla to find out the truth.
After breaking down in the villa, Jessie discovered that 23-year-old farmer Will had been’saying a few romantic things,’ while Layla claimed that she believed he was ‘just being cheeky’ at the time.
‘It became a little bit more flirty. There was one point where he said, “I think you’re gonna turn my head,” or something like that,’ the 28-year-old brand managing director said.
Will told Layla that she had ‘brought out a side of him that he hasn’t been able to bring out in here yet,’ according to Jessie, a 26-year-old personal trainer.
Layla noted that Will looked to be acting ‘different’ after they kissed, before being taken back by the thought of guys feeling ‘guilty’ after cheating on girls.
‘He would have understood that doing that would have made me feel disrespectful. ‘Even the flirting would have irritated me a little,’ Jessie said.
‘I think the fact that he’s pursuing you and making an effort with you… It really left me perplexed since I truly believe Will and I had a genuine relationship.’
Jessie sobbed as she remembered travelling to the Hideaway with Will, where they slept together for the first time, and wondering how he could have pursued another lady on the first day of Casa Amor despite their’so deep’ connection.
After learning that ‘all of the lads were egging it on,’ the former Love Island Australia contestant said, ‘It’s horrific. I swear to God, I adore him, but it’s really annoying. I wished I could return and tell him. If I’d said it during the recoupling last night, it would have been so awful and humiliating.’
Jessie felt it wasn’t ‘fair’ on either her or Layla as Claudia consoled her after her big reveal.
‘Will promised me he wasn’t going to turn his head, and the fact that he mentioned to you that he’s thinking about it,’ she noted.
Several people pointed out that Layla was incredibly flirtatious with Will at Casa Amor, so Jessie may still be missing something.
We’ll just have to wait and see if this is the end for Jessie and Will, or if they can recover.
Love Island returns on Sunday at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
