Due to inclement weather, the cast and crew of Love Island were forced to halt production.
This season of the ITV dating reality programme is being taped in South Africa, a departure from the islanders’ traditional warm coastlines of Majorca.
Unfortunately, weather conditions are making filming the show difficult, and islanders are allegedly being kept indoors.
According to the source, the storm looks to have gone and the weather should be returning to normal, which means we can expect more of the typical poolside banter.
This comes after the winter season began with a bang when high winds slammed the South African villa.
An source said ahead of the new series’ January premiere: ‘Every department was affected – sound, lighting, cameras, clothing.’
‘None of the Islanders anticipated to be shivering around the fire pit either,’ says one.
This year’s villa has an Olympic training pool, a 400m jogging track, a cutting-edge rugby field, and a zip line.
The luxurious home, aptly dubbed Ludus Magnus after Rome’s historic gladiator school, is also said to have access to a private lake with its own Love Island, beach, and palm trees.
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
